Visiting Lengkuas Island in Bangka Belitung
Bangka Belitung archipelago is a hidden gem in Indonesia. You can find lots of beautiful islands and jaw-dropping landscapes. For instance, there is Lengkuas Island. It is one of the most popular islands in Bangka Belitung Province. It has an icon, which is an old lighthouse. This structure is the inheritance of the Dutch Colonialism. Lengkuas is a small island. It doesn’t even have food stands and other advanced facilities. For tourists, it is better to bring some refreshments prior to visiting the island. The thing is you can only find the lighthouse keepers in this place. When it comes to snorkeling, you should have prepared the equipment. An underwater camera is also recommended. The sea features many types of fishes and beautiful corals. One thing, the sea current is a little bit strong. Don’t be careless!
Lengkuas Island also becomes a good location for sightseeing. It is suitable for travelers. You can witness many beautiful objects like Batu Berlayar Island, Pasir Island, and Garuda Stone. These are the nearby attractions in Lengkuas. The best spot to enjoy the scenery is in the lighthouse. The height is 70 meters. That means you need a good stamina to reach the top. Even though tourists can enter it freely, there is a donation box nearby. It is wise to donate some money. From above, you can also witness numerous beach rocks.

How to Get There
You can reach Lengkuas Island by boat. It is reachable from different locations like Tanjung Tinggi, Tanjung Binga, and Tanjung Kelayang. If you come from Kelayang, it takes about 20-25 minutes. From other locations, it takes much longer than that. During holidays, the fee of the boat service will increase. You should know this fact. Once you reach Lengkuas Island, you can explore its beauty freely.
